I may fall because of my sins, but because of the...
It is He who enables me to get up and go on. My faith is that He will, because He has covered my sins.

Light Reading for Sick Days
I love to read, but rarely have time — unless I’m sick. Oh, I read on line all the time what others write, but pure escape fiction is only allowed when I’m sick and my mind just can’t concentrate on the heavy stuff. That’s when I look at the stack of paperbacks I’ve accumulated from past eBay buys or free stuff at the library to see if anything suitable can be...

I Watched the Salinas River Start to Flow
It was awesome to be walking in the Salinas River bed in Paso Robles today, looking to see if water had come to the river yet, and then suddenly see it coming — right towards me. One minute I was in a dry riverbed, and the next I was recording as the river flowed in my direction. I will have a video up soon.  I just kept backing up as the river came towards me. So I put the pin-it button on Firefox, which can see the image, and it still makes me log in and won’t accept my log-in. So I connect to Twitter so I can sign in from Twitter. It signs me in and brings up the...

“For the first time in almost half a century, homicide has fallen off the list of...”
– If this is true, why does it seem I hear of more and more murders occurring in my once very peaceful San Luis Obispo County town? Why are so many of them parents killing children and children killing parents and grandparents? Why is the home, which should be a sanctuary, becoming a battleground?...

Should a Teacher Read the Students' Cumulative... →
When I was teaching, many of my colleagues made a habit of reading ahead on their students this way so they’d know what to expect. I didn’t. I wanted to form my own opinions, with some surprising results
